17/6 vs Coffs United
Coming off our loss to Urunga we really
wanted to put this game away, as Coffs were just above us on the table. We
again started really well and looked great in the first 15 minutes. Despite
this Coffs got the 1st goal against the run of play, after some
scrappy defending by us. We struck back almost immediately with some good
finishing from Pariss and went to half time 1-1
In the 2nd half Coffs
started to gain control of midfield, and we put ourselves under pressure with
some poor ball control. 2 quick goals and we found ourselves down 1-3, but we
again fought back and got to 2-2 with 15 minutes remaining. Despite throwing
everything at United we could not quite get the 3rd goal and went
down 2-3.
Great games from Clare and Shauna who
were pressured constantly by a very aggressive Coffs striker and a clearly
intimidated referee giving repeated free kicks against us.
