Match Report:

The break over the holidays had the boys was evident as the boys took some time to find their rhythm on a warm and sunny morning in Sawtell. The ground was heavy after recent rain and some of the boys were feeling it.

The possession and play early was very even, both teams threatening to break through each others defence, but inconsistent passing and touch was letting both teams down. After a nervous start and an early injury to Haraj, the Storm backs began to perform solidly, keeping the Sawtell strikers well out of range.

Midway through the first half, the Storm attack started to find their form, with some more passes sticking, leading to a successful attacking raid where Ziggy Brown slotted the first goal passed the diving keeper.

The second half saw the Storm begin to dominate the possession, but the boys found it tough to pull the trigger, surrounded by Sawtell defenders in the box, until Ryan Gregorovic showed the way with a great shot from the 18 yard box finding the gap between the crossbar and the outstretched arms of the keeper... not too many u12 keepers are going to stop shots like that.

The Storm continued with their attacking raids though full credit goes to the Sawtell backs, who continued to turn up time and time again to shut them down. Ryan managed to get another great shot away toward the far post, taking the final score to 3-0.

A great team effort boys, well done.

Special thanks this week to KV for providing some great photos again. Priceless moments and memories captured for the boys and their parents. Thanks mate, keep up the good work!
