Match Report:
A short staffed Storm Reserves side made the trip to Urunga for the inaugural Dixie & Rachel Erlandsen shield day. Having lost 3 players to injury during the week things were very tight with few subs on a very hot day. 
The match was extremely tight, although the Storm girls definitely had the better of the first half, as early on we peppered the Urunga goal without success. As often happens Urunga struck back against the run of play just before half time, with a 1 in a million shot from the sideline and well outside the box. 
Down 0-1 we came out firing again in the 2nd half and again had the better of the play. However our players were dropping like flies through heat and injury and we finished the game with no subs and just ran out of legs. Still a good performance first up against what seems to be a stronger Urunga side than last season. We have plenty to work with and once we have all players back on deck things are looking good. Player of the match was Paige Channells with some excellent swerving runs down the right wing.
