Mens Reserve Grade - Round 9 vs Coffs United Lions

Storm vs Coffs United Reserve Grade

Arch rivals Northern Storm and Coffs United faced off at Maclean St Sunday 9th june at 12:00pm. This was a game both teams wanted to play. It started fast and furious with some great football. Momentum was going in storms favour for most of the first half. However in the 22nd minute Joshua Wiseman found the net for Coffs United making the score 1-0 to United at half time.

The second half started and in the 3rd minute Shane McKenna for United scored putting the storm 2 down. To keep in touch with the game storm needed to score and a minute later Salvador Wamara scores the storms first goal. The storm was throwing everything at United trying to level up the score but United’s defence held strong. The storm was right in the game. Kieran Clerke (coach player) was pushing the lads hard.

Kieran played a great game today earning him the storms man of the match. It was in the last five minutes the storm had loss of concentration letting United score two goals, the first in the 41st minute and the second in the 44th minute. That topped off Coffs United’s game. A well deserved 4-1 win for them. The Storm played well and were not disgraced. I think it will be a different game next round.
